Founded by the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) in December of 1973, Los Angeles LOMOD's mission is to provide and support good quality housing for low-income families, seniors, and people with disabilities. In January 2003, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) approved Los Angeles LOMOD Corporation's application to be the Contract Administrator for selected project-based Housing Assistance Payments contracts in ten Southern California counties:
LOMOD is currently responsible for oversight of 733 contracts representing 45,331 affordable rental units.
